Fitness has become a trendy affair for health enthusiasts, with one fad giving to another. Everyone wants to be fit by performing some expert suggested and trendy exercises. Trends go and come, one should perform exercises or yoga which they like and which suits their body. As health and fitness is important, not trends.

So, here are five fads that the fitness experts feel could help anyone to maintain fitness.

1. HITS (High Intensity Training Strategies)

- It is a form of strength training?popularized in 1970s by Arthur Jones, founder of Nautilus that helps people in?achieving?healthy lifestyle. It focuses on short bursts of intense exercise. It involves doing four to five exercises in five to eight sets. It?s all about doing shorter workouts, but they are more intense. One does not require a gym or any equipment while performing these exercises. Such workouts done two or three times a week for four to six minutes in order to achieve a massive and good results.

2. Strength Training

- This method uses resistance to induce muscular contraction, which in turn builds strength, endurance and the size of skeleton muscles. It is a misconception that weight training makes you bulky. In fact, it adds more muscle to your body, and you do need more muscles and less fat to look good and maintain fitness. Weight training results in great muscular strength, which offers better support for joints. Older people who perform weight training can avoid the loss of muscle tissue which occur with ageing.

3. Power Yoga

- You may be familiar with this yoga as it is in trend for many years. It is similar to an aerobic workout, where yoga poses are done faster and in continuation. It is a dynamic fitness-based form of yoga that when?practised?regularly, helps your body to achieve stability, balance and posture. It is a fast-paced workout and can be?practised?by anyone who enjoys exercising. It helps burn more calories and build stamina, strength and flexibility. It also improves blood circulation, boosts the immune system and?alleviates stress and tension.

4. Aerial Yoga

- It is also known as anti-gravity yoga. The key is hammock that acts as your support system. It supports your hips and forward and backward bends. This workout takes yoga to aerial platform. It is performed by doing postures wrapped in hammock that hangs from the ceiling. Anti-gravity yoga increases strength in arms, legs and abs. It involves balancing in the air and performing asanas and breathing. It improves spine strength and agility as the inversion suspension does not stress on cervical muscles. It relieves compressed joints and improves core muscle strength.

5. Circuit Training

- It involves high intensity aerobics. An exercise circuit means completion of prescribed exercises in the training?programme. When a circuit is completed, one begins from the first exercise again. The more intense the workout, the more calories one burns. You will be workout on different muscles at each station. This allows a rest period to your muscles without actually stopping the exercise. So you can workout for longer period without getting tired. It keeps you motivated and alleviates your boredom. Circuit training is a good way to enhance cardiovascular fitness and build muscle endurance especially for women.
